1984 Bronco 4x4, built from the ground-up for strength and power needed to handle rock-climbing and other off-road fun!
The entire drivetrain is from a 1987 F-350, including the 7.5L/460 cu.in. engine, C-6 auto transmission, modified B-W 13-56 manual transfer case, Dana 60 leaf front and Sterling L/S 10.25" rear axle with 3.55 gears and custom-built square-tubing driveshafts. Lifted with a SkyJacker 6" lift kit.
Fuel system consist of: Holley Truck Avenger 770 4 BBL carburetor carb and intake manifold adapter; Jegs electric fuel pump, regulator, and filter with -8an braided hose; and a 15-gal safety-foamed fuel cell.
An HEI distributor provides reliable ignition.
S&W Racecars 10-pt rollcage tied to the frame with custom outriggers, PRP Racing bucket seats, 5-pt RJS safety harnesses, rock sliders, and ultra-heavy-duty custom front bumper/grill with a winch mounting location (winch not included).
The tires (all 4 plus the spare) are 36x12.50x16.5 Military Goodyear run-flat RT Humvee tires mounted on re-centered Humvee rims, powder-coated silver.
Has new battery, new water pump, new starter, new timing cover, new spark plugs and wires, new power steering pump, steering gear box, and recent fluid changes (oil, coolant, power steering, automatic trans).
Interior dash panel has Autometer Phantom gauges (all electric/remote sensors, no fluids going into the cabin) for oil pressure, water temp, and voltage.
Push-start button and master switches for ignition and fuel pump priming. Additional switches are mounted and not used, but can be wired to additional lights, etc.
The body and frame are the original, never wrecked. The entire frame has been cleaned and repainted/coated.
All new polyurethane bushings installed between body and frame.
The rig could potentially be used on the road as well as for rock climbing; it is currently not safety inspected, but could be make "street legal" very easily. (Lights, wipers, horn all work; needs a parking brake and a muffler to be able to be inspected; the rearview and a door mirror are included, but are not installed. Of course none of these matter for off-roading!)
Swing-out door bars (not shown) are available for easy entry/exit. The doors and bars swap-out quickly and easily with easy-to-remove pins.
Exhaust is open through a down-pipe past the Y pipe (it is a little loud without a muffler, but it sounds great!)
And of course, it runs and sounds great!
